Yeah. Rapid was a rookie mistake. She'd run in Lincoln and Topeka before Rapid. Neither of us thought about it and Vegas just got REAL short going into 2nd which cost her drawing a check. In the video, you can see her scotch and set up about half way across the pen. But she absolutley smoked 1st. 3rd was also a litte rough and cost her time there too. So it wasn't like the mare was tapped out and made a perfect run. She had easily 1/2 a second (or more) worth of mistakes.
Hope should have her ready for Gillette this weekend. |

Thank you! She really does.
When we lost Sidekick, it was really hard on both of us. I've always lived by the belief that God never takes away what he doesn't replace. While Sidekick has a special place in both of our hearts, he was mine. Vegas is truly Hope's and Hope loves that little mare with everything she has.
The pony.... Caesar is a mess, lol! He thinks he's a hot stud muffin. He has the funniest personality and has really helped Vegas when it comes to hauling and keeping her quiet. |
