i got to spend a couple days relaxing with my husband at a conference.  i didnt have anything to do during the days but be ready to go out at 5.  so day one i decided to treat myself to room service... Im 44 and have never had room service before.  i was giddy as a school girl....
got it delivered... and as i turned to go back in the room... the door caught the tray and spilled my drink and dang near lost the meal...
You can only laugh at yourself and i have decided i would need much more practice if i ever wanted to live a high end lifestyle...

Having breakfast delivered up to the room is one of my favorite things about traveling for conferences.  I love it.

A couple of years ago, I had to drive downstate about 8 hours for a week long conference.  I took my Italian Greyhound with me because I didn't want to board him out that long and he loves to travel.  I'm not sure who loved the room service more each morning -- him or me.  He thought it was the most awesome thing in the world to have someone walk in the room with food and bacon for him each morning and some nights when I was too tired to go out with the group.  He loved all the staff in that hotel after that!

For the first few years of my marriage, this was my life!  Sitting in hotel rooms waiting for my hubby to get finished at whatever he needed to do for his job....room service was second nature to me.  I'm so happy we don't do that anymore, of course, this was in the days before internet, FB, BHW etc. I'd get so bored watching telelvsion and reading that I'd often get a cab and go sightseeing all by myself which really isn't too much fun.
