I have a Food Saver that I purchased (EBay) in 1998 that I used a lot. I just replaced it with a more advanced model this past year. I really didn't "need" to but came across a good bargain on a brand new one at an auction. Food Saver "brand" has been on the market for a long time, are pretty reasonable in cost, and offer several models.

I have a food saver as well and I like it. It'll get more use next summer when we have the garden, but it's been great to save money by purchasing family packs of food and splitting them down for just the 2 of us.

Bags are expensive though. If the food in the bag was veggies and not meats I will cut carefully just under the seal and reuse for other veggies and such. Chicken and other meat bags get pitched.

I don't use bags. I use the rolls and cut my own bags. I also reuse all of my bags......I just wash them really good with HOT soapy water, turn them inside out to dry or hang them over a spatula in the rack to dry......hasn't killed me in 15 years......lol
