I just finished reading the first five books and I am going to go insane until the next one comes out. I have watched the first 2 seasons on dvd and it is excellent, but the books really flesh it out and I mean REALLY since they are all huge!

Hubby watches it.  I have seen snippets while reading, but am not really into it.  I do tape and watch Walking Dead religiously.

LOVE IT but hate the delay in getting new books out.  He takes so long to edit them & send them to publish.  No character is safe regardless of how important they think they are.

Read the books long before the series.  I think it is a fantastic show!  Yeah...they had to alter things, condense things, add more emphasis on sex...but...all in all they have done a great job of telling a compelling story.

My favorite character that they fleshed out and really made better than the books would be Bronn.  He had the best one liners and the actor just sold it.  Also the guy playing Tyrion...he is a genious with his delivery.

Those are some of the most addicting books ever.  Read the whole series a couple of months ago.  Some of my all time favorites.   I haven't ever watched any of the shows.....sounds like I might have to check the out.  I'm still ****ed he killed Jon off.

Love it!!! I actually started the first book and got completely lost so I just stopped reading it. Then I watched season 1 then started in again and right now I'm about 60% through the last book. I really wish he would hurry up with the next books! I'm going to have to read the Wikipedia entry to remember who everyone is with his pace lol!

I actually read the first book and got mad and didn't read the others for YEARS because I was so upset about Ned.

And I love Tyrion.

I'm interested to see how Danny turns out. And I'm also curious to see Sansa.

She just seems to be really starting to grow.

I only found the show a few months ago. And like another mentioned I ordered HBO just for this. I watched Season 1- 3 in a few weeks on the HBO Go app on my computer. Can't wait for season 4 to start. However, I had no idea there were books too. I'll have to check that out. I couldn't believe it when I saw what happened to Robb and his family at the "wedding". By far my favorite character is Daenerys. April can't get here fast enough!

I'm just so worried George is going to grab his chest and keel over before he brings his story to a good closing place. I hope his wife and his publisher are seeing that he eats properly and gets regular check ups. I would be devastated to lose him! Read his other books! They're mostly SciFi, but once you get started, you can't stop. Fantastic stuff! He's definitely one of my die hard favorites!
