Has anyone ever heard of weak back muscles causing bucking? I was told this by a seller explaining why her horse bucked 3x previously. She said hasn't bucked since riding her more. Have you ever heard of that? This horse was running 2D with former owner who said she never bucked. Horse is 7 yrs old. Any insight would help in deciding if I want to try out horse or not.. Thanks!

I've never heard of it. However, I will say that I can see how it would be a possible cause that I've never thought of. If I haven't used my back muscles and go to do some work, I'll have some spasms and/or pain if I'm not careful. So that kind of makes sense.

If the horse has a mild case of kissing spine that could be very possible.  There are actually quite a few reasons why a horse would not buck when you rode them more often, PSSM, stifles catching or maybe they just need regular excercise.

I would say poor saddle fit fits better

If riding the horse more....with the same saddle....stops the bucking, then I'd guess PSSM.
