| I would rule out pain first, then go back to the basics, and yes they can be fixed.
I would also reflect back and see what I was doing at the events leading up to the barrel, as a subtle cue from the rider can make the horse turn before.
You may even have to sacrifice an entry or two and slow down and run perfect. |

Location: Deep South | Yes it can be fixed. AFTER taking the horse to a great lameness vet first and foremost, having them checked by an equine dentist, being absolutely positive your saddle fits, and seeking a chiro if needed. Then taking them through at shows a little slower, and allowing them to see its no longer painful, once any issues have been resolved. |

| In my experience if it is not a pain issue. Then you fix it with slow work and etc., it will come back at some point wether it is 5 years down the road or 6months. Good luck. |

Location: Anywhere my horses are ! Lost in Texas!!!!! | Tequila started ducking the first barrel and it was pain. I dealt with the pain, worked her slowly on the pattern. Now she does not duck the first anymore. |
