I tried on a cheap loom that I bought at a local craft store and seem to have the steps figured out... I have watched alot of youtube videos and read things. I was not happy with the "cheaper" stuff that I bought so I ordered some stuff from beadshop.com. Impatiently waiting on that to get here!

What kind of loom do you use? Handmade? One that you bought?

I was finding it difficult to get a loom that would work for a lengthy piece like a hatband... my hat measured to be 23 3/4 inches.

I was also not able to find anything about attaching the two ends together to make the continuous band, but I decided to go with a version I saw in a video that used some suede cord and pony/transition beads.

I have a couple of looms that I have bought. I have one from crazycrow.com that is very adjustable. Just looked it up and its on sale! Pretty low cost investment....

Cheap looms and beads are no bueno. They just makes it harder to make a piece that looks good.
On my hatbands, I just sew small strips of soft leather on the ends so they can be tied on the hat. I would think it would it would be tough to make it the right size to fit on a hat with the ends sewn together..... But I'm not always great at making things the right size. lol
