My vet would not give me a script for it, but I have other friends that do use it. It reads the same as Adequan, but someone more knowledgable than myself posted on a thread a long time ago, something about it being different somehow. I can't remember now. Good Luck

You dont even need a prescription for it from www.allivet.com I have used it a lot and am using it again now because adequan is not back in stock. My vet also recommends it.

I use it. My vet said he switched all horses at his clinic to it because it is cheaper than adequan. My mare came home from a trainer with a bottle of adequan. I saw what the adequan was and when I went to get her more here at home was switched to the Ichon. It was not cheaper than the adequan. My mare is young and in training. She was originally started on the adequan because if a leision on her stifle but I have kept up with it as a preventative so I can't tell you if it's working because she wasn't arthritic to begin with. So I guess this was pointless to post but yes I use it!

I'm using it in place of adequan right now. It is true not all PSGAG's are made equal. The molecules are not exactly identical. Ichon is labeled for surgical joint and incision lavage and isn't as effective as an IM injection. I don't feel like the ichon is as effective but it's a decent placeholder until adequan comes back. I would use polyglycan if I could afford it.

I've had a couple vets suggest using Ichon in place of Adequan. I am using it on horses that require injections. I can't say if it works any better than Adequan because I've never tried it with my horses since it was out of stock when I wanted to start them on an injectable joint supplement to help prolong the injections.

I just gave my last shot of Adequan and will be starting the Ichon soon. Can someone please tell me how often you give it? I assume it is still an IM injection like Adequan? It makes me kind of nervous switching to something else but I am now out of Adequan.

I was just about to start my guy on Adequan when I found out about it being out of stock. So, how long would the loading dose be for Ichon and how much do you inject? What would I inject after the loading dose and how often?

Adequan load dose is 1 shot every 4 days for a total of 7 shots (28 days). WIth Ichon, my vet said inject weekly for 5 weeks then Monthly. I noticed my ICHON is THICKER this time from previous orders. Vet said its normal and probably just a different source of PSGAG.
