Hi, just wondering what a customary charge is for barrel lessons. The little girl is going to be using my horse. Sometimes she will come to my house and others we will have to drive about 7 miles to a small indoor arena which one of us will have to pay the owner something. Any advice??

My instructor charges $40 for an hour on my own horse, I suppose if the student is using your horse you could charge $10 extra or so.

My trainer charges $35 a lesson, but you have to have your own horse to ride and you have to haul to her facility. She does not travel.

I charge $35 a session on my horse... I do not travel. I charge $30 per session on their horse. Again, I won't travel. That is pretty common for my area, I know some other trainers charge $50-60 an hour.

In the past, I have charged $35 a lesson on their own horse, at my place only. If I was going to do it over, I think I would charge more.
