And I'm just ready to call it quits for the week.......sorry but I just need to vent. A friend of mine suggested that I send my blue mare to a new trainer who will put miles on her because my usual trainer recently had to start working 10 hour days so he doesn't have the time right now.
Sent her off, paid him in advance and sent along the requested amount of hay/grain. She left my property fat and looking good. I even sent him with a check to trim her hooves during the 2 1/2 months that he had her.
I asked for updates, he said she was doing good, yada yada yada. Well I went and picked her up, she by no means is horribly skinny, but a bit lighter than I like, her hooves haven't been done since she left my property.....and I was told by a close friend of the trainer that she has only had 2 weeks worth of riding. Frustrating but going to bite my tounge.
Then saturday evening I lost my keys, 3 days later can't find them........Can this week get any worse?!?! Ok I'm done ranting now

You know, it's really sad that you can't send horses to someone that you are paying and expect the services you paid for to be done. No, you have to police them too. It is very frustrating and difficult to find one that you can trust to do the job you paid for.

I agree, I think at this point I'm just going to start/finish my own that way I know they are getting ridden and taken care of.
I mean the mare wasn't horrible, but she was very ribby, and I could feel her hip bones
