Where we live there is a major waterfowl refuge where a TON of ducks and geese come(and typically stay). There are THOUSANDS of mallards, snow geese, Canadian geese, ect down there right now on the water. Here are some pictures I took of them yesterday. Hopefully I will be able to get a bit longer lens soon so I can get a better zoom on them. They are hard to photograph, very skiddish.

I have been trying to shoot in manual a lot but I think I need to step back just a bit and use autofocus for some of my more complicated shots for a little while. I am getting a TON of them flying from up close and *barely* having them be "off". Very frustrating!

Heres one I took last weekend just to show how many of these things are down there!

LOVE!! I love it when they start flying through here, it really amazes me! I live in Arkansas and Im from Texas, where we don't get to see so many birds at once!!

Thank you!! My husband and I were talking yesterday about how we are sort of in a "happy medium" place in a way. We have thousands that come through migrating but also a LOT stay here year round. We *typically* (other than this year lol) dont get lower than the teens so they are content here.

I love those white-fronted geese.  Canada geese and snow geese all sound beautiful but there is something extra special about the song of the white-fronts.
