| I am kicking myself for not pushing Hope last year to qualify. This year, you can bet momma won't make that mistake again, lol!
Last year, Hope wasn't willing to pay the fee. Plus the college rodeo at Sheridan was the same weekend as the Loveland qualifier. I already plan on having her talk to her rodeo coach about the dilemma. |

Location: Louisiana | We went to watch the semifinals in Mesquite last week. When we left I said, "If T-Bo is running good when the qualifiers roll around, you can bet I'll find $500 to enter!" It was a great rodeo and lots if money to be won. Do I think he can run with pro horses? I don't know, but I feel like we have a fair shot to qualify to a once in a lifetime type of run!
Question...Can Richy Champion qualify next year or will he not he allowed, since he won the million? |

I thought about it last year but Chance and I were struggling a little in September and it would have cost almost half a month's pay for me to enter so I couldn't risk it. |

That's where I'd be hoping to try for it as well if I think I have a horse good enough. My hauling partner was supposed to pay the qualifying fee at Lincoln last year but chose not to for good reason. Ended up tipping a barrel but would have made the top ten had she not. Hindsight twenty twenty, it was a smart choice to not pay the fee. But I dang sure am hoping she can this year!! |

Someone please explain how the qualifying for the american works im so confused
I can tell you about this years, as I dont yet know if there will be changes for next year. This year we had 5 shows that anyone can put up $500 for a chance to run to get into the American. At each show the top 10 were invited to Mesquite for the Semi-Qualifactaions. So there were 50 riders there, plus BBR had an exemption and they decided to bring the winner of their finals from last year. From that group, 20 moved on to the next round, that was split up into 2 performances. From that round, 10 moved onto the Finals. Also at the finals were the top 10 standings from last years WPRA (after the WNFR) plus RFD-TV could bring one exemption (Charmayne James). Those 21 runners ran and the top 4 moved onto the shoot out. |

I appreciate the sentiment, I truly do! I give myself plenty of credit for the things that I am good at. I also know where my weaknesses lie. There are definitely people who are just "winners". I wasn't necessarily in that line. I was next door, learning to create them. |

Thanks! There's a lot of work to be done, and this is all pending a safe and easy delivery of her baby and that everything goes well legging up.. but my time running barrels is going to be very precious and limited so I better shoot high and chase some dreams before I get too busy and caught up with school to haul anymore! |
