Thinking of applying for a job near Buellton, CA and just wondering if there will be many chances to hit jackpots and if the rodeos are quite a drive or if the circuit has a long down that way? I know the cost of living is much higher than where I am but anything else ya'll could tell me about the area would be great!

Couldn't say for sure. But I would say there's more horse stuff in the Riverside area than where you are looking. But then again, CalPoly in SLO is a really horsey college so there might more than you think. Hope that helps a bit....

Buellton is part of NBHA 16. They have most of their races in Santa Maria. Not a real big club but fun. But your not far from central valley or bakersfield with lots of races every night of the week. I'm from Paso Robles just up the road from Buellton.

I am used to driving a couple hours every time I go to something so as long as there is enough going on within a couple hour radius for quick weekend jackpots and then don't might driving farther for bigger stuff. Glad to hear there is a great vet close!

King City has races and there are some good races at the Spurr Ranch out 46 east. And like they said, one of the best horse clinics in the US is Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Clinic in Los Olivos. And there are several other vets in the area who are also good.
