For all you work out peeps - what heart rate monitors are you using? I'm not really looking to spend $100 bucks on one.

I have a polar FT60. Love it but it is more than you want to spend. Church out heartratemonitorusa.com, they have good prices and good sales.

I have the Polar FT40 and absolutely LOVE it. But like the other poster, mine was not in the price range you'd like. It was $100 (but it was a gift thankfully). I think it's actually the old model that the FT60 replaced (or close to the same type at least).

You don't want to be too cheap when it comes to a monitor...otherwise you may lose accuracy and it may not hold up as well as the more expensive ones.

There's a $70 Timex that's on sale on Amazon now for $35... the reviews are fairly good too. This one doesn't require a chest strap.

That's the one I have too. Seems like it was $125 on Amazon. BUT.....it has WAY more bells and whistles than I like so its a pain to learn to use for the tech challenged people like me. I'd like to get another one that JUST showed time elapsed, heart rate, and calories burned and that's it! The FT60 shows like 10 different things(or more)....I don't use any of that stuff so it just irritates me trying to get around it.

:). I like it because it tells me how much I worked in each heart rate zone.  I don't use all it's functions either.  I had set goals but I got tired of it telling me I needed to take a break so turned that feature off.

Polar H7 Bluetooth Transmitter. Polar has an app for smartphones.

It is pretty slick and automatically syncs to polarpersonaltrainer.com

Hmmm, we have the same Polar but mine never tells me I need to be taking a break! Mine is always telling me I need to work harder, lol! I must have a faulty Polar!
