| APHA has more problems than solid vs. regular registry. Their organizational skills are terrible. My horse was Res World Champion in Poles and when they put the results up on the internet, he was not even listed in the class at all. Another horse was shown as being Res Champion. What the heck???? Then I had to call them and tell them that the horse had earned his ROM so they could put it on his performance record. I guess you are required to do your own bookkeeping.
The barrel sweepstakes was supposed to be a 4D and advertised $9500 added money. The sweepstakes was split into two divisions--solid and regular registry. This was the breakdown of the $9500.
$5000 actual added money split between the two divisions. (2500 to each division)
$3000 to the fastest time---you can be sure that was NOT going to a solid color paint.
$1500 to the ten fastest times. This actually did go to a few solid horses.
If you placed in the 4D in the solid paint division you came home with an empty pocket.
This needs to be a true 4D with money split between the 4D's either with NBHA splits or equal splits.
This is also a comforting thought---I was sitting right by the judges when they sat down for poles and one of the women judges said "now what are we looking for here" Obviously never judged timed events before!!! Bet the roping was interesting. |
