Did not think it would be this hard, my other two live close to home. I'm already wanting to go visit. |

Location: BFE, Idaho | I feel for you my only baby is graduating in May, but basically gone already, finishing H.S., full time job in the next town over, she stays in that town most nights with a friend as the drive home late is long and not a safe highway. (H.S. is halfway between work and home)
Only two weeks of alone and I am actually doing OK. Gonna have a great lawn/garden and lots of time to ride if it ever gets nice. |

I love what you said here. My daughter is close and son is still at home while going to jr college but it is so much fun watching them turn into the adults you hoped they would become. Makes you feel very proud!!! |

Location: Southwest Minnesota | On one hand, I totally feel your pain, I am almost at this point in my life too. On the other hand, I see this post and can't help but think what a great job you must have done raising your daughter to be a young woman who is brave, adventerous, and willing to take some chances in life. Good for her and hugs to you!
Here's to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

| I love the Smoky Valley/Round Mountain area. The people I have met are very nice and welcoming. It is for the most part miners and cowboys. We spend a couple weekends over there for their saddle series and have made some really great friends.
I spoke to Suesan the other day. She said they do not have a schedule yet but Nancy, the other secretary gal, was back from vacation and they are going to get a schedule for races in the valley.
I know it hurts now but she really is going to a great community!
ETA How far away is she going to be from you? HUGS

No, she going with her boyfriend. She has been out there once already, about two months ago. This is his family business, http://www.candeefarms.com/ this is what her boyfriend does for living. |

| From the other end of the perspective - I was that girl (the youngest of 4 kids) who moved away (about 1700 miles) from home at 18 to chase her dreams.
My parents and I talked every Sunday night. We made it a standard date to keep. I missed them like crazy as I moved for college and literally didn't know a soul.
Know this - she wouldn't be doing it if you hadn't instilled some fabulous life skills in her. I'd be willing to bet you have shaped a fabulous, strong, and amazing young woman who can and will take care of herself.
I live about 1200 miles from home now and still talk to my parents every Sunday night. We make the time to see each other in person a few times a year and I have introduced them to skype!
I know it is tough on mommas - hugs and prayers - take pride in knowing that your baby is soaring and chasing her dreams!! |

Her grandma, did the samething almost, from living in Maine to Texas and now IL...my dad was in the US Air force, when he met my mother.I told my husband, i wanted a little catahoula leopard puppy...because she has one that i just loved!. |
