Location: Wherever the Army sends my husband | My hubby is getting stationed there April/May! I'm excited but don't know anyone there. Do any of ya'll know of any properties for lease? NBHA or playday clubs in that area? I'm calling a realtor to help us find a place but thought maybe someone here would know of a place. It has to be horse property as I have several lol. I'll also need any recommendations on vets, farriers and chiropractors.
Thanks for any help!!! |

Location: Nashvegas | I believe Fort Campbell themselves have a riding club and even a boarding barn on the base. I lived in Clarksville several years ago (while I was in college and without a horse) and was told that. I now live in Middle Tennessee, sorry I can't be of much more than that..... I imagine that you would have access to both KY and TN NBHA organizations and there are ton of IBRA shows in both Kentucky and Tennessee. It is a nice area, there are alot of horse activities in Tennessee but not as many as Texas and you will probably have to drive further but it is still good. Good Luck with your move!! |

I'm 40 miles from there. That is a hotbed of barrel racing activities. Not right in the area since they don't have shows at the Ft Campbell arena anymore and rarely at the Clarksville 79 club. Or even at Dover, Tn anymore.
But going further into west Tn there's several weekly shows. But more towards Nashville. The whole "D" system was invented and started in Portland, Tn. About an hour from where you will be. All around Nashville in every direction there are weekly shows with many contestants in barrels and poles.
The one drawback, if you see it as I do?, is that almost every show in that area is on a equal pay format now. But it's nothing to run against 200 barrel horses and 60 or 70 pole horses. You will just driving an hour to most shows. |
