Location: NC | My mom passed at 9pm tonight. The tumors in her brain had multiplied and all 15 were bleeding at once. The pressure was too much for the rest of her body to handle. She's resting now with my Pap I know. Pain free.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for her. She's at peace now. |

It was very quick. She went downhill very rapidly. She was awake and talking this morning. I made it just before her last dose of pain meds that slipped her into a coma. Then she was gone by this evening. She was so weak from the radiation then the tumors just all ruptured at once. Drs couldn't believe it. Her neurologist was baffled. Melanoma is just that aggressive. Just that invasive. She grew 5 tumors in a matter of DAYS.
She survived longer than most patients with that advanced of melanoma. Strongest woman I've ever known.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers. She's at peace now. |

She's free from all the junk she was going through and my sister, myself and her grand babies gained a guardian angel for sure. She loved them most of all. And I think my husband was a close second! Lol. She always spoke so highly of him, got after me if I was ever mean to him. She never could find a real man to love her, so she was overjoyed that I managed to find a good one. And she loved him like her own son. Loved all her grand babies more than anything.
Strongest most honest woman I'll ever know.

I think you must really be just like your mother. You are so strong and honest too. I feel like I have known you forever. Don't understand that but I just do. Location: NC | Thanks everyone. I've been doing pretty well, considering. I'm sad she's gone, and I know it will be hard at times, but I really do feel relief that she's not in pain anymore and she's able to be her again. She's with my Pap, some Uncles, and my Great Grandma, so I know she's not alone for sure. Plenty were there to meet her when she got there.
It does hurt when I think that my kids never really got to know her. My youngest won't remember her at all except from pictures. So that stings a lot. But I know her memory will always live on through all of us.
I decided on "Sissy's Song" by Alan Jackson for the memorial video the funeral home makes. It seems to fit well with her. "Don't worry bout me" is exactly what she would be saying.
