| My horses have lice every spring. I went to the vet about it and she said that hers get it too and its not a big deal. Im tired of it, what do I need to do to get rid of them off of my property, We always treat our horses as soon as we see they have them again, and make sure that they are gone. But every spring they end up with them again.

Location: Where I am happiest | Go to your farm store and get a premises spray and spray their stalls/pens everywhere and spray them to. Your horses are getting reinfested because they are in the walls, board fences, dirt, ect. Re-treat 2 week intervals. I went through this years ago when I let a outside horse come in that unbeknownst to me was infested. I sprayed the whole premises down and it took care of the problem but you have to make sure and treat all your horses and the premises and re-treat as new eggs hatch keeping the cycle going. |

| Saddle pads, dirty winter blankets, saddle sheepskin any old towels and your old jacket you hung in the closet .... brushes, grooming supplies ... you name it ...
and it does not take 2 to tango .... one can start a new tribe every 10 days ...
so spray in 7 days ... also worm with ivermectin when you start .. 99% of horse lice are bloodsuckers (vampires of the bug world)
Jeffers Equine has this but you have to carefully look for it ...
AND READ THE MIXING INSTRUCTIONS ... IT ONLY TAKES 5 TABLESPOONS IN ONE GALLON .... if spraying premise ... use a hand sprayer or a garden hose sprayer ...
This is the best and cheapest fly bug sprayer you can have anywhere you go ...
links on Jeffers die... so had to do it this way ...

| We completely get rid of it every spring on the horses as soon as we notice them. And treat our blankets and stuff when we ride. But every spring we have it back. We do have deer that go through here occasionally and I have no idea where it started here from. I use the permectrin 2 spray and it works good. I am just hoping to get rid of them for good this year somehow. Thanks |

You would have to get rid of the deer to get rid of the problem. |
