Location: USA | Ok, so I was competing seasoning my up-coming barrel mare and we had done good in the exhibtions at our local jackpot rodeo. So I went ahead and entered in the open. I don't know about everybody else but I like wearing my ripped jeans. Their comfortable and I do anything in them and they don't have a problem. They were my moms like 20 years ago and I probably wore them about 3-5 years. Anyways, they had a small rip in the middle of my seat but weren't visible and I rode in them all the time around the house and competed in them even with the rip so no big deal. But as I was going up to the third barrel my mare was flying faster than she had been before and I really had to lean out to keep our balance and coming back home all I felt was a breeze. After I exited the alley way I realized I ripped my jeans all the way up my butt! Thankfully I wore my dad's 3X t-Shirt (As you can tell I like wearing comfy things, lol) So I could cover my butt with the shirt as I rode away. But I never felt SO embarrassed in my entire life! |

Location: In my own world | If that was the most embarrassing thing to happen to me in public I would be elated! I have ripped shirts and shown bras and another thing I do not want to say! And today I'm pretty sure I took my son to school with my fly open. I stopped at the gas station after that to use the restroom and it was down. I had a hoodie on. Hoping no one saw anything!! I would be bummed about my fav jeans! |

Location: stray dump capital of the world | I came out of the restroom one day at work back in the day of pantyhose. My senior (meaning very old) male principal started grabbing at my rear and I called him a dirty old geezer. Then I realized I had tucked the back end of my long skirt into my pantyhose. Thank goodness we were very good friends outside of work because he had horses too, but I was sooo embarrassed. He gave me grief for a long time after that and dubbed me 1/2 Flash because only 1/2 of my hiney was showing. |

Location: west of East Texas | I have my favorite old jeans too. A couple pairs are ripped completely across one 'cheek', right under the pocket. These jeans NEVER go to town. Well one Saturday I strolled up to the sign up table, right in front of the bleachers, at the huge CHURCH barrel race. When I leaned over to fill out the entry form.... I felt the breeze. It was a hot summer day so I had no jacket or extra long shirt. I did have some lime green and hot pink duct tape in my trailer though. |

| I was at the NBHA colonial nationals one year, and after suffering a severe migraine attack, spending a night in a strange hospital, and missing the first go... I was very weak and tired, My mare gets hot and on the muscle in the holding pen and i didn't have the energy to deal with it, so i stayed off her until it was my turn to run... she was prancing and spinning while i was trying to get on, one of the trainers in my area came in to help me, i went to swing my leg over and "RIIIIIP" there goes my pants... i was too exhausted to be embarrassed, i had a terrible run, my mare ran hard to the first, turned nice, and realized i just wasn't with her and practically loped the rest of the pattern, which gave everyone more time to notice the nice hole in my pants in a not so flattering spot.
I rode her all the back to the barn, and into her stall to get off where no one would see me... poor girl was so confused. |

| I went to try a horse once in an old, comfy pair of jeans. They weren't ripped yet, but pretty worn. I went to step in the stirrup, and riippppp right across the cheek. I went on like nothing happened, but when I got off I had to spend the rest of the time there positioning my backside away from the lady showing me this horse. Haha. It was awkward. |

| LOL - I ripped my shirt open last year at a mounted shooting event that was live streamed on the web. I was setting my horse for the final barrel of the run while switching my guns, I pulled my second gun and the hammer caught on my shirt and I kept pulling ... ended up ripping my shirt all the way up my side, exposing my fabulously bright sports bra, and completed my run - shirt flapping and me shooting away!
I STILL get crap from the announcer and my hauling partner a year later! Own it and roll with it! |

| I'm always bummed to lose 'those' sets of jeans that are just so darn comfy! Don't worry, you probably will have several more occurances in your life time!
My favorite was when I was attacked by Oklahoma red ants next to my horse trailer. I was booting my horse up and felt the first bites up around, well, you know where...
Oklahoma red ants are NO JOKE!
SO...I shucked out of my pants, and my underwear, and was basically naked (IE THINKING I WAS COMPLETELY UNOBSERVED at the 'abandoned' fairgrounds), swatting and pinching and high stepping screaking at red ant torture when I happened to catch a 'figure' out of the corner of my eye.
Yup. It was a man. He had been innocently watering his flowerbed with the hose, but by this time was watering his fence, with a huge grin! Oh. My. God. Oh. My. God. Oh. My. God. Where the frick frick did my pants GO?!
Yup. It really did happen that way. So proud.... |

Location: North of the 49th Parallel | I ripped three pairs of old jeans in one week. First one was pulling them on, didn't realize it but thank goodness my roommate saw and told me. Second one is when I was bending down to put polo's on my horse. Third was getting on. It wasn't my week at all. Thankfully both times at the barn nobody was there. Whew. |

Location: Bad Mamajama From South Of Alabama! | My retired rodeo mare was a hard charging, fire breathin', frieght train....I have always had a habit of when I go down the alley, I get so focused on my run that I don't hear anything or notice anything during my run except what my horse is doing....
Well,.....at a rodeo, and we wrapped the snot out of the first barrel, and had a h*ll of a run started! Ruby dove in for 2nd, and tripped on the back side, went down in the front, and I went forward from the force of it. Somehow she caught herself, got back to her feet, snapped back for third, and was gone like a bullet. When she took off, I kind of slid back across the saddle horn, and hung with her....She wrapped 3rd, and took off for the alley. I knew we had made a smokin' run even with the trip, and somehow heard the crowd start getting loud cheering. My goofy self, just thought they were cheering for a good run!....I didn't realize til we hit the alley how much of a "breeze" I was getting. LOL....When she took off after the trip, and I slid back across the horn, the horn had popped off my belt buckle, caught my shirt, and ripped my shirt wide open, plus caught my bra in the front and ripped it open....The "girls" has made a special appearence for the whole crowd at 2nd, and waved the whole way back to the alley.
Lesson learned that night....I don't care if I'm at the grocery store or a rodeo, the "girls" now have a regular bra, AND a sports bra at all times, and I more than likely have a thin tank top under my rodeo shirt EVERY time I go down the alley.

| I remember the time that I was racing and my shirt came untucked and my saddle horn caught it and ripped the entire front of my shirt open while I was running....it was a pretty shirt too, the gate guys got a good view as I ran home. LOL. Those are things that just happen, laugh it off and move on. (Luckily I had a skimpy tank top on under it, but still...running home you could see plenty) |

Location: CTX | I got caught on the horn a bunch of times (last time was last night actually... )... 1 time with my belt, so after that I never wear a belt at a race. All other times where with my bra.... . guess I really need to remember wearing a sportsbra when running... But I was lucky (so far..) to never have a shirt malfunction.... and after seeing a friend of mine flopping her girls around when she took a nose-dive off her horse, I vowed to always wear a cami underneath my shirt, no matter if it has snaps or buttons!! Buttons do come off too!!! But like was said before... it happens, just laugh it off and move on. |

Location: Choctaw, Oklahoma | I had a horse that would wrap and snap out of a barrel and I had to really hang on, one day I wasn't quiet ready and ended up leaning forward more than usual and he was just doing his thing in the pattern, and my bra somehow got caught on the horn through my shirt and broke the band in between the girls!!! Luckily my dad had duct tape in the truck. Ended up strapping the dang bra together, but for the better part of the run, my ta-ta's were flapping....oh brother!!
But I've mended broken buckles with baling wire in a pinch due to getting them popped on saddle horns too....lol |
