What does everyone think of shoeing with plastic shoes? My horse is having some lameness issues and the vet suggested using plastic shoes and making sure he is balanced. I'm just wanting some feed back on them. What do they cost? How long do they last? What were your results?

we tried them and my husband is a farrier. called happy hoofware. they do not stay on, they slide sideways in a run. and they slip on wet grass. we did not like them at all... now if you were trail riding or working on concrete walking and trotting I would say yes. not for barrels or roping

Why plastic (out of curosity)? There are several types out there: 1. Ground Control 2. Epona 3. Equiflex With no luck... In concept they sound awesome (shock absorbing, wear like a natural foot, etc) but the same benefits are the downfalls with being a pain to put on and take off lol! Plus the few I have tried are REALLY thick and they just vibrate off.
