Ok so I'm not real clear on what this really means. I went to look at a 7yr old gelding for sale, she says he's paid up in FF, well I thought this was for futurity and derby horses only? Can you still win woney if you place throughout their whole life or just when young? I'm so confused, I did google it somewhat but still not clear to me. So does it not matter once a horse is beyond their futurity and derby years if they are paid in FF? Thank you!

Yes you can still will money all their life at certain shows that have a future fortunes side pot. Those shows should be listed on their web site and only FF enrolled horses are in the side pot

FF is awesome! It doesn't cost anything extra to run for future fortunes money, which is great. I won an extra $500. a couple of weeks ago in the open. That was in addition to the jackpot check. I just wish they had more FF sidepots throughout the year.

It's tuff to find FF horses for sale.  A lot of people have nice foals, don't enroll them and then sell them.  I'm getting more picky and won't buy another one that isn't enrolled.  JMO

I bought one off the track this year and it will cost $200 to enroll him...but I'm not sure if I should since it doesn't appear there are many sidepots held in Central or East TX?

If I was in your position... I would do it!

They have a fine list of stallions that are enrolled and if I had one that was eligible I would do it in a heartbeat.  Esp. since they say there is no additional entry fee for the sidepots.  (assuming you're not going to be doing futurities/derbies... if you are then it's just an even bigger incentive to enroll)

I really think that they'll catch on more and more and those sidepots will increase.

I wish people would enroll them!!!  I'd be more than happy to reimburse the one who paid the horse in just because I'm not in the business of breeding &/or raising colts, but I'd still like to have the benefits of it!! lol

I'd like to have one when it's a few years older and more on my level!!

lol! Who knows. It's only $$ and it would be fun to be grandfathered in somehow if the program makes changes, right? Think I'll do it!

So I need to clarify, If I am the new owner of a ff enrolled horse, do I have to send in any special papers? Or are they enrolled for live no matter who owns them? Sorry this is all new to me...or do I just have to make sure he's registered in my name?

Theyre enrolled for life .. .just make sure the horse is in your name as the 70% goes to the owner on the PAPERS at the time of the show!!!!!

All we raise are Future Fortunes colts (exception of one mare has a rebreed yet to use on a racing stallion) and we pay them all in full as wealings.   The best program in the country!

go to future fortunes website and get their fax # or mailing address. You will need to send in your horse's registration papers with your name on it. That's all you will have to do! If you don't they send the FF check's to the owner they have listed in their files.

I enrolled the yearling I have for sale as soon as his AQHA papers came back in. I was not going to miss it! LOL

I was strongly considering buying only a FF horse (whenever I finally get around to it) but I've been very aware of the FF races they have in my part of the country and they are few and far between and haven't increased numberwise in the three years I've been watching them. It's free money, no entry fee is put up by anyone and they pay well, just not many of them around here.

go to future fortunes website and get their fax # or mailing address. You will need to send in your horse's registration papers with your name on it. That's all you will have to do! If you don't they send the FF check's to the owner they have listed in their files.

They will also send you a little sticker that has their trademark on it to put on your horses papers.
