Location: Deep South | I have never fed BOSS, but between Cool Calories and Rice Bran I prefer CC, below are the before and after pics of a 4yo filly I brought home and put on it, there were a couple other factors into play, I also wormed her really good, and had her teeth done, but this was my first time using the CC and I've never had one gain so quickly. It took only one bag of CC at the recommended dosage.

Location: Texas | I do both BOSS and Cool Calories. The best price I've found for Cool Calories is Hayneedle.com. 2cups of BOSS and 3oz of Cool Calories twice a day.

Location: Online | I've tried both Cool Calories and Rice Bran. I have one horse that is not an easy keeper. I put him on CC and saw no results at all while another horse I had years ago did very well on it. I switched to Rice bran and he's looking better and more filled out. The only thing I don't like about RB is you have to feed so much of it to get the suggested amount fed. But if it works for him I will use it.
Never used BOSS. |

Location: Kansas | My feed mix has BOSS in it and its a cob mix with mainly whole oats. I add very little rice bran maybe a cup per feeding and some half cup and the Forco and they gain eating only 2 to 4 lbs of grain a day. I also grind flax seed daily for added fat also with so many benefits for other things as well. |

| Not a big fan of Boss for wieght gain, but I do really like it in a feed program for other attributes. I REALLY like the powdered rice bran, not the pellets. I have always had huge success with it and do not have to feed alot of it.. max 4cups a day. I have used CC before and was very disapointed. I have a mental block that it is synthetic lol... I didnt like the consistancy, or the smell.. and the horses hated it. I didnt get any results off of it at all and I found it expensive for the results.

Location: Outside of Larryville, KS | i feed BOSS but really just for how shiny it makes their coats, my understanding is that you would have to feed around 2lbs a day to get weight gain from it. I actually prefer Kent Omegatin- it is high fat, has vitamins and minerals in it and works great! It is very reasonable and i saw the weight gain within a week. |

Location: Louisiana | I adding CC now to my studs feed to help him during breeding season. I LOVE the smell smells like bubble gum ! He eats it good. You can get it from Tractor Supply for $21.99 for 8#'s. Hes only been on it for about 3 weeks but I also have him on Flax Seed Oil and he eats Ultium. But he gets to learn and drops to much during breeding season so I want to add more calories. Ive heard some people talk about Empower and Renew Gold for a fat supplement also. I think im going to try one of those on my broodmares and him also. (picture from this morning...dont judge this is just a cell pic...lol)

Location: Fort Collins, CO | Cool Calories. That's what I used on my mare. 99% fat, not messy, smells and tastes good. easy & cheap!
but it works!
Rice bran can go rancid fast--and you don't know it....i will never feed it to my horses again after knowing what I know now.
Plus it's only 35% fat approx and costs $25 for a 40 lb bag. more expensive. |

| I'm going to be the odd one out here...I've tried rice bran, CC, Boss, oil, and about everything else sold for weight gain and I've never really seen any weight gain from any of them. The only thing I've seen put weight on my horses is green grass. |
