I am looking to get a youth barrel saddle for my 10 year old daughter. When I look online I feel as though they either look really cheap or are too much money. I want to make sure it would fit her wider mare and gelding, and prefer rough out. I am thinking with a good saddle (hers is on the big side for her now) the added security will help her confidence in adding speed as well. What are some good quality brands out there? I wouldn't mind a good used one, either, I just feel like they are hard to find. Thanks for the help!!

I feel your pain. They are extremely hard to find at a reasonable price. The only good thing is that the resale value when your kiddo outgrows it will be good. You might get the word out to friends with kids that are a little older to see if they have a saddle collecting dust in the tack room. Good luck.

Corriente makes some great youth saddles. They will do rough out as well. I also like Real Billy Cooks, and Cowboy Classic saddles for youth. For the price they are good saddles that aren't going to break the bank.

Shallow Creek Bits sells a nice deep seated saddle for a very reasonable price. 13" seat is available and they make them to order as far as rough out fenders and etc.

Teskey, Corriente make some nice youth saddles on the more inexpensive side. Cactus, Coats, Double J among others will all make you an excellent barrel saddle for the little ones but its going to cost you more. Any of these saddles will hold their value.
