To send papers back? I called them monday while I was in North Dakota on the return of my mares papers since they cashed my check...was told they mailed her papers back on the 12th. How long does it normally take to get the papers back from mail?

My last transfer took a couple weeks after they cashed the check.

The transfer took a week for them to do and cash the check, a woman I spoke with at AQHA said they mailed the papers back to me over a week ago.

Knowing my luck they got lost in the mail LOL

I always pay the extra $15 to have it rushed.  Got my most recent back in less than 10 days, without the additional for fedex.

AQHA takes forever to do anything! I get tired of dealing with them. The only thing they have going for them is they play George Strait when you are on hold!

I don't know about everyone else, but I registered my 2013 foal on line.  I got her papers back in 3 weeks.  I've never had a problem with them.

I live in Texas but it still took a month from the time I mailed the papers in and they actually made it back to me. They have always been easy to deal with and I haven't had any problems.

It took about 2 weeks after my check was cashed too. So all in total it took about 3 weeks to get my papers back. No big deal to me, never had a problem with AQHA

Instead of me calling AQHA I would just check on line to see if the horse was put in my name, once he was in my name I got my papers with in the next week.

If you think AQHA is bad, send a set of papers to APHA.  It was 5 months.

I mailed transfer papers out on march 5th and got them back the end of last week. And I did not rush. There was an issue with one transfer but they sent a letter about it that I got with my other stuff.
Hope you get your papers back soon.

Boy isn't that the truth. I had more issues back when we had paints too. I had a dun tobiano stallion and was breeding him to mostly QH mares.  A sorrel mare had a sorrel tobiano filly. The filly was light red, but for sure a sorrel. They argued and made me send extra pics and all. For gosh sakes, I would have LOVED for her to have been a dun! So why in the world would I be trying to lie and say she is sorrel lol.

I am still waiting on registration papers I sent in last fall on my 2013 foal...

Just emailed AQHA and the response was very fast. They said my papers were just printed and will be shipped out in the next 3-5 days and I should recieve them by end of March!

I did this also. Took about three weeks to get my papers back.

If AQHA said they mailed them out to you on the 12th then you have a post office issue. Once they get sent then it's the mail thats the hold up.
My husband just transfered a horse the beginning of the month and it was less then 2 weeks and we had them back. We were both shocked it was so fast this time. LOL

This may be true elsewhere but AQHA has a thing about telling everyone such and such was mailed when in fact it is sitting on someone's desk. I have had it happen multiple times. You can check the post mark date to verify. When the date is off by weeks.... and this isn't a one time occurance.

I must be the luckiest person in the world according to this forum. Cause i've gotten 6 new AQHA broodmares + a mare i picked up to flip sent in their papers from any where between Dec-Feb ( i picked the mares up at a different times from different places.) and got all the papers back in my name in 3 weeks.
and APHA has never taken more than a month for me to regs a foal, transfer papers, nada.

I've never had an issue with either so far. That being said.... let me find some wood....

I called them 2 weeks ago and they said it was a 10-14 day to do a transfer without a rush.  I am now a little worried I may not get them when I was hoping for.

I am already showing as current owner on my new mare, and it is really 2 weeks ago tomorrow I called.
I would call if it has been awhile.

It was a complete nightmare trying to get my gelding transferred. The last couple owners had not transferred him so they had to go track back through all the owners and then 8 months later decided it wasn't conclusive enough and I had to send in an affidavit and pictures for review. Thank goodness they decided it was the same horse! It took almost a year to get them back. Moral of the story, TRANSFER YOUR DANG HORSES WHEN YOU BUY THEM. Otherwise it becomes a complete pain in the butt for someone else which only leads to them NEVER AGAIN wanting to bother with the pain of transferring either!

I recently sent out a transfer on a filly and had papers back in less than 2 weeks! I also have a mare I had to file for duplicate papers on and transfer. Mailed in everything March 14th and got her papers on the 23rd! I did not pay rush fees. Honestly never had an issue with aqha
