Location: Texas! | Seriously! I am in Fairfield at the Barrel Blast and within 10 minutes of getting here I already have dirt marks all down my pants my hair is a mess (which didn't take much lol) but I see girls walking around in their cute little outfits and perfect hair and makeup! How do they do it?! |

| I wonder the same thing!! I've shown cows since I was 10 too and anytime I ride or show I'm sweaty, my hair sticks to my face, I have whatever animal is with me's hair on my face and on me, dirt gets under my nails, and I either have dirt or cow poop on me or my boots. And I really try to stay clean! Lol |

| IDK cause that sure is not me, especially when our heat and humidity sets in. How is the race going??? I saw a few grumbling about it on FB. I had a wedding shower and couldn't go.

Yeah, the harder I try to stay clean the dirtier I get...it doesn't matter if I'm with horses or just doing something out in the yard. |

If I wear a white shirt, my horse sees it as an invitation to blow boogs all over me. |

Location: MD | I do all of the "dirty stuff" before I put on decent clothes. That means stuffing my hay bag full, grooming my horses, lots of water so I don't slosh it all over myself... then I get ready for the day. I'm just more careful after I have gotten cute.
And i am a total pig most of the time, it takes a lot of planning for me to stay clean. My horses are bathed, fed, rode and all that before I get to eat and shower so when I deal with them they aren't smearing dirt across me. And I pretty much hide from everyone so nobody sees my bed head! I also take a change of jeans and shirts so in case I do get really gross I don't have to walk around with it all over myself all day.

Location: Way up North | When I was showing the only way to stay clean was to wear your gross clothes to wash, brush, feed, tack, etc. and then do change to presentable clothes so all you had left was to pull your bridle on and get on. Nowadays I don't really have to care if my pants are dirty or I am sweaty. I still try to stay clean but I am very thankful I don't have to count my appearance against my time! |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | I usually do the dirty work in work clothes. Once all that's done then I will put on decent clothes so I at least look presentable. I used to do rodeo pageants so staying clean and "perfect" looking was a must but I have been standing around waiting to do interviews and having to redo my hair/make up or getting horse snot off my white clothes. Though I will admit I'm guilty of having some(daddy) do the dirty work sometimes Especially before big big shows like Worlds cause he says I have to be clean "just in case" I have to have pictures made lol. Only once have I won anything that required a picture and at the time I was 15 and looked like I had been rolling with the pigs. So ever since he makes me stay clean and I'm 21 about to be 22.

| If I can show up with everything I need, no injured/crying/overly dirty/hungry kids, happy husband, and no crises I feel pretty darn good. Pretty hair? Spotless clothes? What's that? I haven't seen that since I had kids. LOL!!

| I'm a dirt magnet. I can do something as simple as getting groceries and come home with some sort of dirt/dust/"stuff" on my clothes. I was given a white coat as a gift and my husband laughed and said "Good luck with that!" |

Location: Oklahoma | Maybe they wear clothes on top of their clothes? I showed calves for 9 years and I always wore my regular jeans underneath, but had on water repellent sweatpants over top for when I had to wash my calves and get them ready. Then I could just change tops in my trailer at the last second and pretty much just walk into the ring. But it's not that easy in barrel racing... so I do wonder how those girls can keep their makeup and hair looking fresh! I'm totally lost on that one!! |

ME TOO!!! We joke that I can't show (horses, cattle, or sheep) without something stuck to my face or neck!
To the OP - They bring people to do the dirty work ... that's my guess!! |
