I bought a couple of weanlings from that breeder awhile back. Merrill Ranch out of SD. She has some nice colts every year. Very trainable and have the best temperments! Congrats!! He looks nice!

Nooooo....he isn't a stud! PHEWIE! We can only handle one of those!
I actually contacted the trainer for Merrill Ranch and got a lot of GREAT information on this guy.
Poor guy was more of a reject of the bunch. He wouldn't take or keep a lead and then he got scared and ran into a gate and tore his face up-when they went to dr. it he cowkicked the trainer HARD...and after that they just decided to send him on as a ranch horse so they took him to a sale where he went for under $200 bucks!
I almost wonder if he just needed some time to mature as he was around two, and with the number of horses they work with-it seems to me that they don't have time for horses to mature-they just keep the ones that work naturally. When I rode him I only tried him one way-I just wanted to make sure he wasn't cold backed or a flipper! I figured anything else I can work with.
If I find he has issues with his leads still I will probably get x-rays done. Regardless-I have next to nothing in him...I think I can make him into something.
