I'm not even in the affected states and i'm gonna have my vet come out to do my yearly shots and I'm gonna have her come to my farm first because no horses have been on or off my farm in 4 months so I know that i'm safe so far! I think it is likely that anyone could transfer it from one farm to another unless they shower and change clothes in between farms.

To answer the title question - yes, absolutely!!
To answer your question on your post - I don't know. I am catching up on the outbreak news but I don't the information necessary to have an opinion on that. Vet's can spread it, but did a vet visit a horse shedding the virus but not symptomatic go on to visit one of the first horses exhibiting symptoms? Don't know. I wonder if vets involved with all the affected horses have to trace their steps well before and after visiting the affected horse?
