I have a horse I'm trying to find out who its parents are and if it is registered through the AQHA. I was curious if I could get him DNA tested to find out who his parents are. Is that possible? Has anyone done it? I wasn't sure if I would have to go through the AQHA or maybe the lab that they use. I have a few stallions that I think may be the sire but I'm not sure.

Sure would be great, but as far as I know they cant do that yet. I know someone that bred her mare and sent in the dna sample from the baby to register him. Turns out the stud isn't who his papers say he is. Long story short, she is stuck with an unregistered colt now.

I think aqha holds all rights to the results through their testing. The only way I can see is to submit a registration application then order parantage verification for each stallion.
