I didn't have the great weekend I was hoping for, but Clifford managed to win enough to pay for his PHT blanket and Joker laid down three very solid runs so it wasn't a bad weekend by any means. Cliff and I are still trying to figure out the 1st & 2nd barrels, but we're getting closer. 2 steps forward and one step back it seems. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the three who went this weekend. Hopefully all of them will be in good shape for Lincoln after Chance gets his vet work done this afternoon.
This was Streak in one of his exhibitions yesterday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFihp-WpS30&list=UU3h0VmyuYbqBRUor4JBQVlA&feature=share He banged a knee on Thursday and I spent the next three days working on getting the swelling out so he didn't get worked all week until Saturday evening. I swear this horse watches the others in exhibitions and tries to do what they do. LOL. He is coming along well enough that I think I'll take him to Lincoln as a backup to my other 3, figuring it's better to do a $40 or $75 exhibition than to waste the money entirely. However, I am glad I drew my 4th spot in the bonus round out so I don't have to push him.

ndiehl - 2014-03-31 9:01 AM I love how streak is coming along for you.
Me too!!! I think once he really figures out how to use his body in a small circle, he can be pretty special. Matt got on him Saturday and worked with him on bending, flexing and circling to the right, which seemed to help. I am not good at fixing stiffness to the right so I'm glad I had the opportunity for someone else to teach Streak those things.

barrelracr131 - 2014-03-31 10:26 AM I like Joker a lot. I love those bays :)
Thanks! He's so much fun - makes the same run every time and I never worry if he's going to work. Not sure what I'll do when he retires because he has been my old faithful for more than a decade. Hopefully he's got another year or two left if I take care of him.
