I downloaded a program called Freemake video converter. It put a button on my Firefox browser. All I have to do is click on that orange button up by my address bar when I'm on the youtube page and it lets me automatically download the video file AND convert it to whatever format I prefer, includind DVD.  You can also use JING, which is also free, to do 30 second screen captures. These are saved as flash files though and are much harder to work with. I do love JING for photos though.

it has the options on what type of video is available to download it as and you can make your choice.
