I am riding in a Tammy Fischer barrel saddle with a contoured relief 1/2 inch diamond wool pad. I just got the saddle and first ride noticed when i took the saddle off that there was even sweat marks but roughed hair on both sides of my horses back. I know roughed hair means saddle is slipping, so do i need a different pad? Back cinch? Smaller cinch in front? I am still using my regular cinch from my treed saddle and heard that you need a smaller cinch??
Did you get the regular fit or the wide fit? I know girls around here use a tacky pad under their Tammy and Jackie so it doesn't slip. I'm very surprised you can use your regular cinch. I had to go with a much shorter cinch.
The regular fit. Well and thats why im wondering maybe thats part of the problem? When i cinch i am wrapping it a gazillion times to make it work. Ill try a smaller one and see how it effects it. What pad do you use?

Yes you need a smaller cinch for any treeless saddles. I bet with different cinch it might help with the slipping. I would think 1/2 Diamond wool pad would be good.

I am going to agree with SOUTHTXPONYGIRL...smaller cinch for treeless saddles. Although I will enphasize again to all.. please measure your animal correctly and make sure that the saddle is made for your measurement... you can end up hurting your baby....
