 Can You Hear Me Now?
  
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I came home from running errands Tuesday evening to find him not able to move his back legs. He can't feel anything in them and still seems happy. Vet says there is nothing we can do at this point. We have been treating mild hip and back problems for 6 months and he has done well. This was so sudden I am still in shock.

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | It is never the right time...and it is never an easy decision. But as a wise vet once told me...there are worse things in life for an animal than a humane end. It's the responsibility we bear to see that they do not suffer unnecesarily...and that we let them go when we can no longer give them a quality of life.

Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I'm taking him out for one last car ride. We are going to go get a burger, fries and a sundae. He gets them every time we go on a trip. |

She was truley one of the best dogs and companions ever. Hardest thing I ever had to do. I feel your pain . Sorry you are going through this. |

| So very sorry for you my heart is breaking all over again. The same thing happened to our poor Nickie. One minute she was running and the next she couldn't walk. We had to put her down but if this helps any it was the most peaceful way to go. I told the vet that I''m going back to her when it's my time. |

What a gorgeous boy he is! There are no words to ease your pain. I worked as a vet tech for a couple years and it always crushed my heart to watch people make that hard decision.

Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | The vet said he was basically paralyzed so at least he had no pain. He agrees he did something traumatic on Tuesday to cause it. He went peacefully in my arms after eating his bacon cheese burger, onion rings and going for an extra long 3 hour car ride... He didn't want the sundae or the top half of the burger bun. The whole time he was happy and never once lost his sparkle in his eye. It's breaking my heart to know I won't wake up to his paw on me, or his cold nose on the small of my back, his bark when he thinks he hears the ghost car just to go outside. The next trip I make won't be the same without my sidekick basically taking me out to get to the car when I say all packed let's go. He's back with his best buddies Louie a beagle, Jordan another shepherd, and flip my old rabbit who he guarded religiously. I told him we will see each other again, that I loved him and I know he will be sitting on the edge of the cement deck looking over his farm and horses like he loved to do.
Here is my one last picture of him. He was watching the people get their food and was getting excited in the drive thru.

Find comfort knowing that he is happy and surrounded by people that love him. My heart breaks for you. Losing my dog was probably the hardest thing I've ever been through. Hang in there. |
