Location: Small Town Iowa | I am pretty crafty and make my own paracord reins but for the life of me I can't figure out how to make a paracord over/under whip. Does anyone know how and could send me some sort of instructions to do it. My dilema is that what I'm finding it's either key chains or dog leashes. I am stumped on how to make a loop handle so it'll fit over the saddle horn. Even if anyone knows of a website to go to that gives you instructions or just how to do it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance |

Location: Small Town Iowa | I have been googling it. I just want to know how to make the handle. All I can find is how to make key chains and such. And we are back in a freeze in Iowa. It was 80 degrees on Saturday and now it's snowing and feels like 20 outside. I think I've been froze enough. |

Location: Kansas | If no one is able to help you, late tonight when I get home, I'll ask my younger brother. He made a dog leash with a loop on the end of it, and quite honestly, you could probably just rubber band it to the horn even if the loop wasn't quite small enough to fit right. I have my leather over & under banded on because I have actually pulled it off the horn and thrown it in the dirt mid-run before. Don't ask how I did it, I probably couldn't do it again if I tried LOL. |

It's definitely not a whine, just my daily gripe. I think I have something figured out. Nothing else it'll be a pretty color for a ceiling fan pull. LOL! Thanks though. |

| I make and sell them...but I'm winding it down so ill spill the beans
Are you using an 8 strand square braid for the whip? If so cut 4 pieces of cord, find the middle and do a 4 strand braid until you have enough for a loop; bring the ends together so you have 8 again and braid down.
Clear as mud? |

Thanks!!! I'm doing the 8 plait square braid. That does make sense for making the handle. That's the only part that I was stumped on. I'm not looking to make any for sale, I just want to make it for myself. That's how I get most of my tack. Bling conchos, painted tack, reins and now an over under whip. You name it, I'm sure I've tried to make it at least once.
