Location: My own little world :) | Just curious if anyone recognizes this brand. This mare is supposed to be in foal and in a kill pen. To me see is pretty decent looking but I thought maybe if I could track down who the brand belongs to I could find out more about her. Thanks!

Location: My own little world :) | Ok so I did a little research and the brand that this mare has belongs to Sparrowk Livestock in Clements, CA. They have a website and it looks like the are a cattle ranch...there was no information on the horse aspect. Has anyone heard of this ranch? Do they have a horse program? |

Location: Where I am happiest | I had a mare with this same brand! Nice nice mare!!! Their stallion and the only stallion they used was Scottish Bar Flit. He's on allbreed. Interesting pedigree for barrel racing. Bar Ours is a NFR qualifier, Skippidy Flip is the sire of Biankus, sire of multiple NFR qualifiers, and of course we all know Flit Bar, NFR qualifier and sire of the immortal NFR qualifier Firewater Flit. He came from the ranch in California and was sold just a couple years ago to the ranch in Lakeview. So the ranch in Ca. is the correct one. |

I am familier with the kill buyer who has this mare. He goes to all the once a month horse auctions and buys anything and everything that falls in his price bracket irrigardless of who or what they are. He allows a girl to pick a few horses out a month for her to list to try to rehome. If they dont get a home, then they are shipped with the others as his first priority is to fill those trucks. It's really very sad. I bought a mare from them last year and she is a really nice mare! |

Location: Where I am happiest | These horses by that sire are super nice horses. They are extreme athletes! This horse should have been promoted as a barrel horse sire instead of tucked away on a ranch breeding ranch horses for ranch horses. They can be a little hot like all good competition horses. They wont take any rough handling but let me tell you, they are naturals on the barrels. He is a gorgous horse! |

Location: My own little world :) | I am running into dead ends. I talked with the ranch with the brand and they said they had so many horses that it would be really hard to track her down. I then contacted the AQHA and cross referenced her description against the foals of that stud and we didn't come up with anything. I also talked to the contact in charge of the rehoming of these horses and she said that no one has expressed any interest in her and the deadline for her to get on the truck is 4/26 so this Saturday. Does anyone else have any ideas? |

Talk to the gal that lists those horses or the kill buyer directly. Try to find out what auction she came from, and her lot # at that sale. Then contact the sale yard and try to get the consinger info from them. They keep records on all horses being brought in. You could then contact the consigner ( seller) and see if you can get the papers from him. Either that, or just rescue her and know you got a very nice BRED mare for $400. At least you know you dont have to have papers for barrel racing and your saving not just one, but 2 lives. |

Oh haha! This horse was listed on a site called auctionhorses.net where they try to rehome horses that are currently in the kill pen waiting to be shipped. She is located in Sunnyside, Wa currently. I liked the looks of this mare and I was curious where she came from so before I discovered who the brand belonged to I was hoping that someone could help me find the owners so that maybe they would have some information. I by no means want to point fingers or suggest that they did anything wrong...just wanted to get info on her because I got word that she could be by a stallion that had some good lines in the barrel horse world. I thought possibly if she had papers and was bred well I would get her as a broodmare or maybe someone else would take interest. The deadline for her to be adopted is 4/26 so she doesn't have much time. I hope that answered your questions and again like I said I in no way want to disrespect the Sparrowks I just thought possibly they might have some information on her and possibly we could fine her a home |

Location: My own little world :) | Ok so here is an update... this mare is bagged up so I would suppose she will foal here soon. Thats a horrible thought that her and her baby will have to get on a truck and be driven all the way to Mexico to die...I doubt they make it really. I also just wanted to spread the word that there are several other young mares that are available that no one has expressed interest in. They were not sold with papers but their papers can be obtained...we know they are registered. Check them out at auction horses.net while there is still time please!!!

Location: My own little world :) | Hello all! I kind of left you hanging on this whole situation and I am sorry for that. I believe all the bred mares found new homes and most if not all of the pen of young mares pictured found homes as well. The horses all have deadlines and these horses' deadlines have passed. Those left were shipped off to Mexico sadly. I encourage you all to check out Auction Horses on Facebook. |
