| God has given me two gifts; blessings to keep me joyful, and pain to keep me humble.
Psalm 77:10-20 And I said, This is my anguish; but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High" I will remember the works of the Lord; surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds. You way, O God, is in the sanctuary' who is so great as God as our God? You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. The waters saw You, O God; the waters saw You, they were afraid; the depths also trembled the clouds poured out water.; the skies sent out a sound; your arrows also flashed about. The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind' the lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. Your way was in the sea, Your path in the greats waters, and Your footsteps were not known. You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
He called "anguish" in verse 10, a term that in the Hebrew language can mean a wound or even a disease. In the middle of his pain, Asaph remembered the Lord and that made all the difference.. Though his pain caused him suffering, Asaph made three decisions; V 11 he considered what God has done in the past. V 12He meditated on the great works of God, even going so far as to speak them aloud for others to hear. and V 13 entered God's presence and worshiped.
Because he knew God, Asaph understood. He was working through the pain to show His glory. Even when we cannot see God's footprints V 19 we can still depend on His character, power, and care. When your pain is great or your pathway is darkened, instead of asking the Lord, " Why are You putting me through this? consider asking Him, What are You showing me through this?
Though you may find yourself in pain, God has not forsaken you. He has not changed His goodness, His love, or His mercy. The same God with the power to make the skies flash and the earth tremble also has the compassion to lead you in tenderness and love through the pain you are facing.

| Thank you today's message. How true is that?! Joyful in our blessings and humbled through our pain! Pain is a necessary part of life to make us be the people we can be and should be, I believe that with all my heart. As they say, if God brings you to it, He will bring you through and we will be all the better for it! Thanks again, LJ and have a blessed day! | |
