So, I bought a vintage sharon camarillo saddle last week.  Currently cleaning it up, making sure it's sound etc.  Has real silver conchos that are cleaning up nicely, but, this saddle has saddle strings that pull through the tree and they are shot.  Couple of questions: Can I put regular screw in conchos in place of the strings and slotted conchos?  OR does anyone have idea's for keeping the slotted conchos and putting in shorter strings or different idea's? I really don't need long strings, but am worried short ones will look dumb!

Not sure why my font is messed up but I think you can put a regular concho in its place. If not- maybe put a short piece of leather with buckle tips- I have seen that before vs long strings.
