My vet and I are certain that my mare has arthritis in her stifle. Ill be doing xrays in 2 weeks to see how bad the damage is. We did a full lameness in January complete with blocks. Finally narrowed it down to the stifle. He injected and told me to take her home and leg her up slowly and see how she does. The injections lasted maybe 2 weeks. I couldn't tell a difference riding her but she was ALOT less grumpy in the pasture. Now shes back to kicking and squealing at the other horses. Ive had her 11 years and know that's a sign shes hurting.
So my question
What can I do to make her more comfortable? He told me to keep her in shape but no tight turns. To just pleasure ride and push cows on her. Several people have told me to breed her but I don't want to make it worse.
Anything I can give to help her not hurt?

I have a mare that has arthritis in the stifle. We were injecting hocks and stifles each year. With the last injections, I also put her on Adequan. I put her on the loading dose, then once a month. She's been doing great.
