A friend of mine told me the other day that she has been giving diatomaceous earth to her horses and taking it herself to help detoxify and as aid to prevent worms.
Have any of you ever heard of this or have done it? How much did u take and how much did u give your horses? Did it help?

I fed it for about six months, but I didn't really notice any changes. I deworm base off of fecals, but mine were clean before feeding it. I fed one TBSP a day.

First thank u for ur response!!
I looked online and a tbsp is for human consumption and it is that twice a day. So vs 150lbs vs 1500lbs maybe that might make a difference. I don't know I'm just trying to learn about it. I have looked online and have gotten both good and bad. I really want to try it, lol more for me first than my horses. I'm all about if it doesn't hurt it might help!!

I think the key thing is to have your horse totally clean before feeding the Diat earth. From there I really think it will help keep them clean. We have bought lick tubs in the past that had it, but they were so spendy and not a fan of the amount of molassas in them that we stopped feeding them after one year.

I thought it was 1 tbsp a day for a horse... at least that's what I think I read on the bag. I may have read wrong though.
Here you go. 1 teaspoon is humans, tablespoon is horses.
