Top picture is NOT balanced at all. Bottom one looks ok. Do you have pictures from the side and front?

Horrible.

The shoe is too small for the foot, this is going to cause contracted heels. You try wearing a boot size too small.

There should be 1/8" of shoe exposed all the way around the foot to allow for expansion and contraction.

Personally if this was my horse I would pull the shoes off immediately and get the farrier to come back out and try again

First picture, not balanced at all and the shoe is too small

Second one is better, but, pictures of the sides would help to critique more.

2nd picture- left side heel is longer than the right. That will definitely make the horse body sore. Not a balanced job. Looks painful to me with the heels elevated and contracting (hairline on heels forms a v instead of level)

I kind of think they are both horrible.

First one, shoe is too small.

Second one...if you turn your head sideways and/or line it up with a sheet of paper, the shoe is twisted or if nothing else, they aren't trimmed evenly.

I'd fire that shoer and get a new one asap!

both plain awful

aside from the issues of twisted shoe and unbalanced feet... looks like too much heel is left on as well... in my unedumacated eyes

I went through this exact issue 2 months ago. Pulled her shoes after I rode her and she couldn't stop tripping. Unbalanced trim, shoes too small, front left was twisted a little. Went back to trimming her myself. Praying i find a good farrier when I move so I can get her shod!

All of you are confirming what I was already thinking.  Here are a couple more pics of my gray horse.  Do you know anybody GOOD in western Nebraska or NE Colorado?

Contact board buddy 3turnsonspud.  Her hubby is a farrier in SW South Dakota.  He could possibly help you or lead you to someone closer.

The nails are extremely low and the clinches look awful.  Not enough heel support in my opinion.

#1 - top picture the inside (right side) of the heel is WAY longer than the other
        a. Unbalanced in other words (you can see it in the hair line pictures)
#2 - shoes are too small
#3 - Even though the nail placement is low and the clenches are big...doesnt matter. i nail everything low and dont have an issue.
