 Can an xray show an abscess?  I only ever had one horse that has had an abscess and didn't know at the time what the issues was until it opened up on the bottom of his sole.  Have one now I suspect might have one.....

 Yes.  We were also able to figure out a horse's foot soreness because the iodine I had used on his soles seeped into the hundred microscopic cracks and showed up on X-ray.

I've been iodining too because he had a hint of thrush since it has been so wet here.  I will make sure I have it good and coated before I take him in.
