Through your vet. It isn't as successful as Lasix, it is carbazochrome salicylate. Does not have the side effects lasix does. Actually, no known side effects last I knew of. Given the same way as Lasix. IV, so long out. . . I've used it on one horse and it worked on her. But it doesn't work on everyone. That's why it's not as well known. . . seems to be popping up a lot lately though. It's been around for a long time.

Hi. My horse had colic surgeries and is a moderate-severe bleeder depending on the weather.. After the surgeries I did not want to ask for it by dehydrating her with Lasix.. Kentucky Red is given 4 hrs out IV 10CC. I have seen other people say 5 night before and 5 day of, ive never heard of that, or seen it work with less than 10 cc (tried giving 6 when bottle was almost gone and that was all i had). It does work. It works better with ventipulmon or Air Power.. yes i know theyre not the same but an oral breathing treatment with it will help.. I also use lung aid by choice of champions and it works great but i give 2 scoops a day instead of the 1 as directed bc everytime I cut back she coughs after runs. It costs about 90$$ for a 2 month supply I think. BUT the downside is Kred is about $1 a cc, or 10$ a shot in other words, so not as cheap as lasix. And the time window is crucial to it working. More than 4.5 out it is not as strong and less than 3.5 out same thing. I really like it though :)

If he responds well to and doesn't bleed with lasix, why change?
