Ryka and ASIC tennis shoes. Eastland leather shoes. I'm on concrete everyday, not necessarily standing but on concrete nonetheless :). Believe me, I empathize.

Dansko shoes are made for standing and being on feet all day. Many people who work in hospitals wear then. I wore them when I still worked in hospital and loved them. My feet never hurt after 12 hours cOmpared to wearing sneakers for 12 hrs

Ditton on the Dansko shoes.  I have RA as well.  They are far superior to any tennis shoes I've worn.  They cost quite a bit, but last forever.  I like the rubber soled ones better than the hard soled "professional" ones.

Being older..54 and on my feet on concrete for  8-12 hrs per day.  I normally go for New Balance/Reebok or Avia athletic shoes.  But I like the ones that are mostly material.  I also have a bunion and a corn on one foot.  My feet do not hurt at the end of the day.  Stay away from tight shoes.  All leather constricts my feet and makes them hurt like crazy.

Please look into Align Footwear!  It is not a shoe, it is a shoe insert.  They are unbelievable.  I have just recently started a walking program and use these inserts in the oldest, dirtiest pair of tennis shoes that I have.  Am up to 4.7 miles a day and my body does not hurt!  64 years old!

If your school system will let you, wear your boots as much as possible. I went to foot Dr. few months ago with same issue he told me to wear Airat or Justin. He said that every woman should wear nothing but these two brands of shoes. Stated boot are designed to put the women's foot in the perfect position and keeps the foot in perfect condition longer. I teach as well and have started to wear my boots more often and I can tell the difference.

I stand/walk all day, only time to sit is during lunch.  I have found the perfect shoe, it is cheap and confy.  The Scrubs shoes from the Shoe Dept. are the only thing that don't make my feet and legs/knees hurt.  They only cost $16 and last about 3 months.

Have you looked into Chacos? They specialize in outdoors/sandals, but they are the most comfortable, supportive pair of shoes I've ever worn. They make close-toed shoes too. Check them out. chacos.com

Brooks brand running shoes...these are great....they are the most comfortable shoes out there!!!! I wear them to exercise and for everyday and work too. Finish Line shoe store carries them and they have all different types according to your foot shape and how your arch is shaped too.

I wear ariat hiking boots. I can't find any shoe or sneaker to fit me right and not cause me pain besides the ariats. I am really in need of a new pair, mine have rather large holes in them lol. I get a half size bigger and then put dr scholls inserts in them. The extra size lets me take the inserts out in the winter and wear an extra pair of wool socks instead (I work outside).

Dansko is the way to go. They are expensive but worth every penny. Once you are used to them you will wear them all the time. I wore them when I worked at a newspaper on concrete and when I taught school.

I worked on my feet all day and the best shoe I found was Z-coil. They are not attractive and not cheap but not expensive for how long the last which was about 18 months in a restaurant environment (they were $120 but it has been 5 years since I bought any).
They are supposed to reduce 50% of the shock on your legs and back.

I work about 60+ hours a week, all walking and running around on concrete. I've had multipul knee surgeries, so while I may be young, i get a lot of pain in my left knee. I swear by Bates. I work in law enforcement, and thats what they are designed for. I also have a pair of Converse duty boots. They are very very comfortable, but are the insulated ones, so i usually only wear them in winter, as they are quite warm. lol.
All of mine are duty boots, but they make half boots and tennis type shoes as well.

Do NOT buy Danskos online. They are hand made and each pair fits differently from the next. I have a Mortons Neuroma in my right foot and can't wear them. I feel like I may have a spur also, but won't go to find out.

Anyway, I have one pair of Danskos that fits nicely, and I have had a couple other pairs that fit okay, but I have tried on 998988298928989 pairs of the same size that did NOT fit right. I've been a nurse for 20 years and I'm forever trying on Danskos and Santinas (basically the same shoe) and have a heck of a time getting a pair to fit me right.

I am wearing Brooks athletic shoes. So far they are the most comfortable for me.

I asked the same thing when I was working 12 hours a day at our new restaurant and the thing that helped me the most was Back On Track socks that somebody suggested. They have been a tremendous help. I ended up getting Sketchers non slip and oil resistant shoes that were great for my job but the socks is what helped the most. I ordered them directly off their website

I totally agree with you on the socks.  I have from time to time worn my sons Nike Elite socks and they make a huge difference.  They are expensive but they are well worth it.
