Location: Opelousas, LA | I read an article the other day about a horse with stifle lameness that could not be resolved and was eventually diagnosed with stress fractures in the stifle thru an MRI. They were discussing the use of Tildren as routine maintenance instead of waiting for a problem to show up. So I guess it is fairly common.
I have to wonder if all the cortisone and anti inflamatory drugs we use on our animals now is somehow contributing to all this. Not to mention the use of Omeprazole which has been linked to fractures in humans. Now we are going to start using Tildren to attempt to repair all the damage done even though there are very well documented side effects to using similar drugs in humans, side effects that could be catastrophic in a horse used for high stress speed events.
