Watch out for wolves at night. I live in Bozeman MT and a friend was out walking her dog a few weeks ago while visiting west yellowstone, when they stumbled upon those glorious reintroduced wolves. It was not scared in the least and tried to eat her pooch. I'd stay in a hotel if I were you. Not trying to stir any pot, just stating the facts.

Thank you! Wolves scare the hell out of me! We booked at yellowstone holiday camp ground.
If I had to sleep in tent id for sure get a room but we all have camp trailers to stay in.

All I can say is if you find a place to stay in Park Island (i think that wast the name) ... Do NOT BE FOOLED.... They advertise Park Island as being 5 miles from the west yellowstone park entrance, BUT what they don't tell you untill you get there is that Park Island also has the "longest mainstreet in America" which is 32 miles. So our cabin we rented that was "5 miles from the park" was actually about 30 miles from the park and took about an hour to drive it. UGH! Just be careful. LOL.... It was still a beautiful trip.
