It should be dry. We had tons of rain two days in a row. I think it's a 10% chance every day from now until Derby Day. I'd bet on a dry track. |

Location: Ky | There's a group of 10 of us going to Ellis park for the Derby. We go there every year. Had 8 seats reserved in the clubhouse and then wanted to add 2 on Monday. Had a hard time getting it done. If we didn't have a table every year we wouldn't have been able to get those extra 2 seats.
Means a large crowd this year.
I was a CC fan for a long time and still am. But now that he's everyone's number 1 the odds will be terrible. I'll still bet him but I'm looking for one with better odds now. I would like for that to be Ride On Curlin but the CB connection will drive bettors to him too. |

Sounds like a fantastic fun time.
CC might go off with better odds than we have seen in awhile, the draw was not kind to his threats, but I will not bet him at even. IMHO he is the one to beat. He can open and close fractions and even if it not the distance most want, he has opened and closed his races. (meaning fractions for those who do not know) I dislike he has stayed in Cal for all of his races. Cali bred to boot. BUT I love him anyway! |

And, I saw Ride On Curlin break his maiden last year at Ellis, that dude is CLASSY, even as a 2yr old he had his own "presence", so he is one of my picks. Definitely helps that Calvin is on him. Wish he was closer to the rail but if ROC and Borel are on their game and trust each other they should be fine. |

It's 60 degrees right now and getting cloudy, but it's only a 10-20% change of rain today. Don't worry about a muddy/sloppy track tomorrow. It will be 75 and sunny, so a fast track for sure.

No, unfortunately my husband and I promised to go to Illinois with my parents to help my mom with her geneology research(I wasn't thinking about it being Derby day!). Have fun! I have never been over at the club house during a big race but I usually work for a trainer through the summer so I am on the backside a LOT, if you ever come down to watch the races through the season let me know! Shoot, I'm not that highfalutin to go to Derby. We drink beer and bourbon and watch it on TV, and do bets on the side. And I'm only 30 miles from the track. Go figure. |

We go quite often for the live meet. No clubhouse for us then. Usually go on Sundays for the $1 beer and $1 hotdogs.
We go to the clubhouse for the Triple Crown races when there is nothing going on down on the track.
I'll let you know when we come over during the live meet. |
