All my youngsters have come down with a cough. They don't have fevers, just that darn dry cough that I am sure started with the change in temperature and all the wind. Do you guys have any home remedies to speed up the process? I really don't want to start them all on SMZ's, don't think that is necessary, but would like for this to run its course quickly.

I like Air Power, but if you don't have any, mixing honey and lemon juice is a good home remedy to soothe a cough. My gelding gets a warm-up cough this time of year from all the crap blooming.

I read online that the spice tumeric alleviates a cough. Tumeric is the spice that is in mustard. When my horse developed a cough and no other symptoms I added a squirt of mustard to her grain twice a day and with 5 days or so it was all gone. Hardly a scientific study, but just thought I'd share.

Mustard is helpful for a sore throat as well. Try it next time. It burns going down, but you'll feel better afterwards.
