My gelding (leased out while I've been pregnant) has popped ANOTHER splint. My vet went back out and looked at him and assessed his feet REALLY closely and determined the problem to be some badly "balanced" shoes.

So he is coming home to be spoiled rotten and spend some time on stall rest. What are everyone's favorite therapies for soothing/healing popped splints? I have both BOT quick wraps AND no bows - preference? Anything else? I want to do anything and everything to heal him up as comfortably and quickly as I can. :(

This guy means more to me than anything, and after he comes home - he is never leaving again for any reason. It wasn't a direct fault of my friends leasing him, but I just am too particular about his care to let anybody else manage him.

I get bone marrow injected into the splints, or a cell which is a generic form of stem cells.

That's already on the schedule to be done. I'm interested in everybody's favorite products to keep horses comfy and speed up the healing a bit.

No speeding up the healing ... you can make horse more comfy by just turning it out in a good grassy pasture and let Mother Nature and time take its course on calcifying the splint bones to the cannon bones.... give him some aspirin at feeding time and call it a day ...

This is one of the best and most honest splint articles out there ... no magic, no non-sense and minimal cost ...

I've had luck with Runners Relief and Dr. Green. AKA PASTURE TIME. When your ready to come back do a progressive bone remodeling program. Work the horse in every type of dirt you would ever expect him to run in.

I agree with Barrelhorse.  The guy I had  that popped a splint was turned out for a quite a while till good and sound, it was a long time ago so don't remember how long he took to heal,   but  but years later when I sold him, at the pre-purchase   exam, he was exrayed and it  was healed with no lameness

My favorite tool to promote healing is my game ready, as the rhythmic motion of the compression mimics muscle movement, the pressure is also good for tendons and ligaments
