| oh it'll go away with time. Took my big buckskin to a race last night to exhibition. First time he has been out, we looked like a couple of chickens, he was scared of the fence, the barrel, the signs, the people in the stands. He's really watchy anyways but holy moly! By the third time we went through(just trotting) he somewhat looked like he knew what he was doing. I just hope he gets over it soon, he's loping a nice pattern at home but hauling him somewhere seems to blow his mind! |

Location: NE Texas | My advice....the slower you go, the more there is to see. Get there a little earlier if you can and get in the arena before starts and let them get used to everything. Then during your exhibitions, start at a lope, if he attempts to work, then slow it down, if not, make changes in your next lope through. I think trotting through an exhibition, unless the horse is just barely started on the pattern, creates more distraction and anxiety than it does anything else. JMO
Good luck in hauling your horse tonight and most of all.....HAVE FUN!!!!!! |

This cracks me up!! ^^^
I LOVE music ... so I pull out my ipod, slap in the headphones and JAM OUT! :) It gets my mind together and I have a playlist that gets me ready to compete!
Also - margaritas and friends! Be happy you're on your horse and go KILL it!! |
