I tend to like the direct approach......try going to the Walmart parking lot, with a ski mask and fake pistol......say, "this is a stick up! Now, give me all your money!" I'll bet you'll make a killing.

I saw that you can design your own t-shirts, set a $$$ goal and then sell them. I'd do that!

Hey, this might work too. Stand outside Walmart with a big poster board that says, "I have no imagination for fundraising, so have mercy on me and give me a dollar." You could hold a little cup.........

Orrrrrr!!!! A sign that says, "Help me pay for a seeing eye dog for my Grandma"

My daughter is selling raffle tickets to help raise money for expenses for her to go to the NBHA youth work.  The chances are for a set of Pampered Chef pots & pans or a pinic basket filled with goodies, she  has done really well with it so far.   Also a group we are associated with sold chanced for a $1000 Walmart gift card and did great with that.  You can even get them to donate part of it

For this idea to work you will probably need an old lady in dark glasses wearing one of Hoofs t-shirts that say "Blind Grandma".  Then she can wander around bumping into things and walking out into traffic.  People wouldn't be able to deny a dollar to help that!

One year for an association, I made an agreement with Wal-Mart and set up a dog and cat dip day.  I managed to get the dip supplies donated so the only thing we had to supply was our labor.

Ok....this will work! You need to breed pit bulls and sell them on Craigslist. There's apparently a very big market there.

Also, you could advertise for free broken lawnmowers, we'll remove.....then sell them for $10 a piece to the lawnmower repair men on Craigslist.

Orrrrrrr, you could have a "we'll come pick up your old metal for free" then head on down to the metal recycler's.

Either or at this point!

With my husband being involved in county government, we go to quite a few fundraisers.  One this spring that was so much fun was 100 Men Who Cook.  Basically you get 100 Men in the community (figures in the community, business owners, political, etc...).  They then prepare a dish for the event.  We were asked to make I think 100 sample size servings (25 normal serving cut into 1/4).  I think tickets were like $60 a person and you could also purchase a table (businesses did this especially if they had a chef).  Then people could go and get as many servings and dishes as they wanted all evening.  There were tip jars on each chef's table and people put money in to "vote" for that chef.  They also had it set up online to get donations before the event.  Then they had some music afterwards and an auction.  They ended up raising over 70,000 that night.  It was really fun for us as well as letting the men cook some things.
A few weks ago, there was a horse racing one for those who represent children in abuse/neglect cases.  You could "bet" and also "purchase" horses and name them.  I think they had a replay of a set of races from the horse racing channel.  If you won you got tickets to place in various raffles I think.  I wasn't able to go to that one, but everyone said they had a good time.
Also you could do a trivia night.  We put on one of those, tons of fun, we didn't make loads of money but it was so much fun that I'm guessing we will triple the amount of people next time.  We did stupid little prizes, and raffles thoughout the night for things like inflatable swords, crowns, etc... stuff from the dollar store.
I'm on the BOD for our local Boys and Girls Club and we will be doing a picnic where adults pay to eat hamburgers while the kids eat steak.  Also thinking about a 5K or color run, they are really popular.

Bake sales of course (doesn't have to be dessert like), spaghetti dinners or somethin similar, poker runs with food and an auction, a trail ride with an auction and food afterwards (you can have everyone bring a dish or just supply the main things like hotdogs and hamburgers), carwashes do alright, raffle tickets for a lifetime hunting and fishing license or a market hog or steer, a tiny pageant which doesn't have to be legit. It could even be funny, like for men or rednecks or whoever. Hope you find somethin!

Womanless beauty pagents are hilarious! and you would be surprised the men that will participate. One year our local festival had a Shirley Temple contest for the men. it was so funny our sheriff and my grandfather did it. It was so funny to see all these men with curly blonde wigs and mary janes and lace socks!
bake sales are good get people to just bake whatever and even ask for donations of eggs and cookie and cake mixes.
Raffles are good you can just ask people to donate something small and put all in a basket to raffle. Its popular in Louisiana to ask for a LSU item and put in basket doesn't matter what it is. You could do whatever college or theme you wanted.

I can get you set up with a fund raiser through www.dallyup.com  Your organization will get 20% of the sales!
It's easy too!  I can set up the party for you, then you just tell everyone (email, facebook posts, sharing ect) to go check out the website and shop.  At checkout they will put your groups name down.  Items ship direct to them, so you don't even have to worry about delivery or mailing!
Tack, home decor, clothing, jewelry ect!  The Western Store that Comes To Your Door!
